Introducing readers to a new universe

Behind the closed shutters of its salons, the Villa du Temps Retrouvé in Cabourg brings back to life the world of Marcel Proust. The pleasure of an artist, said the author of In Search of Lost Time, is to introduce us to one more universe. Proust did so with his memories of Cabourg, where he stayed on various occasions from his childhood. As an adult, he returned there on vacation and to treat his asthma from 1907 after mourning the death of his parents. Cabourg served as a model for the Balbec described in Within a Budding Grove.
