Walk in Xepenehe Bay
1
0
The peninsula which extends to the northwest of Lifou Island between Easo and Xepenehe is one of the most tourist sites on the island. Whales appear there from June to September, but there are also many Australian cruise passengers whose boats drop anchor in Santal Bay. Renowned for the quality of its mooring, Xepenehe - whose name means 'arrival of boats' - was at the origin of the sandalwood trade from 1842.
