The territory of the municipality of La Londe-les-Maures, in the Var department, is only occupied at 0.1% by salt marshes. However, in its western part, it adjoins that of the coastal town of Hyères, where most of the Vieux Salins (old salt marshes) can be found. Made up of 865 acres (350 ha) of small salt marshes, the Vieux Salins run alongside the beaches of Hyères for nearly 1.8 mi (3 km) towards La Londe-les-Maures.
