Colmar is the wine capital of Alsace. A cobbled cellar filled with decorated barrels was constituted in the Unterlinden Museum in the 1920s and 1930s. It was created by Jean-Jacques Waltz, curator of the museum and local artist. It gathers tools related to the harvest, presses as old as 1654, and massive casks. The barrel of Prince-Abbot François-Christophe von Hutten, dated 1767, is adorned with a carved wooden panel painted with attributes of the reign of Louis XV.
