Since 1950, the Head of the Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin organize two annual tastings in their castle of Clos de Vougeot. In spring and autumn, more than 250 wine professionals (wine growers, critics, journalists, oenologists, merchants) blind taste about twenty wines per table. Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Gamay, Aligoté, or Sauvignon are submitted to the jury whose president of each table gives the votes. The winner of each category wins a label printed with the arms of the brotherhood, the year, and the name of the winner. The economic benefits of the tastings of Clos de Vougeot are substantial and highly honorary.
