Located on the eponymous peninsula of Nouméa, the industrial area of Ducos is the oldest industrial area in the city and the economic and commercial lung of New Caledonia. It brings together 579 industrial and service establishments. Very busy, it is served by the expressway n°1 - Route du Normandie and divided into seven districts : Ducos, Ducos Industriel, Logicoop, Kaméré, Tindu, Numbo and Koumourou. Relatively isolated from the city center, it was used as a place of deportation for convicts in the 19th century.
