At the Domaine d’Esthine, Cotentin donkeys are not only raised and trained, they are also loved. The Domain is keen to preserve this traditional Cotentin breed and to make it better known. The twenty or so donkeys can roam freely on 0,042 sq. miles (11 hectares) of farmland and it is clear they feel at home. Apart from organising walks with the donkeys on the small paths of the Mont St Michel bay, the farm has a donkey milk soap crafting workshop.
