Its endeavors to preserve and perpetuate the Point d'Alençon technique. The dozen or so lacemakers who currently work there have joined the Atelier after spending two years training to prepare for the entrance examination. Dedicated to the perpetuation of their know-how, this workshop is also a living place of creation where the lacemakers put their unique talent at the service of contemporary artistic creations and prestigious works such as the making of curtains for the silver salon of the Élysée Palace. In July and August, the lacemakers demonstrate their know-how at the Musée des Beaux-Arts et de la Dentelle (Museum of Fine Arts and Lace) on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
