The mute swan (Cygnus olor) is better known as the white swan. This bird species belonging to the Anseriformes order and the Anatidae family is found throughout much of Eurasia and North Africa. Its reputation differs from country to country, and it is considered a domestic bird in some areas and a pest species in others. This large bird has a wingspan up to 8.2 ft (250 cm) with its wings outstretched.
