The teams in Jamaica (NEPA) and Florida (UF Croc Docs) are making preparations to begin country-wide surveys to evaluate the conservation status of American crocodiles in Jamaica. Both teams continue to monitor the ongoing global pandemic and adjust plans to ensure the safety of personnel.
On the ground in Jamaica, five survey sites have been visited so far and more are planned this Fall. As part of ongoing conservation efforts in Jamaica, 28 new crocodile hatchlings were transferred to the crocodile headstart program at Holland Bay Crocodile Sanctuary.
