In Honduras, the majority of the Tawahka community live in the village of Krausirpi, on the Patuca river banks. This fluvial and forest people fishes and moves along the river to cultivate the banks. Every year, a Tawahka farmer usually cultivates 4 different fields for his own consumption: rice, cassava, fruits, and beans. Rice and cassava fields are located at altitude.
