The Clécy viaduct allowed the passage of the Norman Switzerland railway line. Established between Caen and Flers in Normandy, it was built in the second half of the 19th century, from 1862, to open up the industrializing town of Condé-sur-Noireau, whose station was inaugurated in 1868. Rich of the remarkable landscape environment of Norman Switzerland, this secondary line foreshadowed the current lines of regional trains.
