The simultaneous push or double push can be used in classic cross-country skiing on the flat parts. It consists of pushing simultaneously on both arms with the poles without using the legs and slightly bending the chest to make the push more efficient. To be effective, this technique requires significant strength in the arms and a good method. Beginner skiers rather tend to use the alternative step, which is more similar to walking and easier.
