The hierarchical position is always an issue for baboons. All males are dominant over females. However, it also exists a hierarchy between females. They usually stay in the troop where they are born and inherit from their mother status. This status may evolve according to their reproductive conditions. As for males, they move from the troop where they are born, trying to become a dominant male in another troop. They face other males to go higher in the hierarchy.
