The phosphate mines of Quercy and those of Cloup d'Aural are a collection of unique paleontological finds in the world. The number and the quality of preservation of the fossils found there are exceptional. Usually in the region, organic remains disintegrate rapidly, but the presence of the old 'phosphatières' has allowed the preservation of a large quantity of fossils.
