Diving with a lionfish
1
0
Pterois species are significant invasive species in the western Atlantic, the Caribbean Sea, and the Mediterranean Sea. Commonly known as lionfish, these venomous fish have not predators in the wild. They take their name from their sumptuous, striped mane which is also dangerous: it contains long poisonous spines whose the bite can be fatal. Therefore, it is necessary to be very careful when diving alongside them.
