The clear and cool waters of Lake Servières in the Puy-de-Dôme department are fed by springs and melting snow. They are particularly adapted to fishing, which is regulated but authorized during the legal period. It extends from thirty minutes before sunrise until thirty minutes after sunset except on Fridays, the days of the trouts releases. Brown and rainbow trouts, arctic chars, brook salmons, perches, pikes, carps, roaches, tenches, and gudgeons are plentiful in the lake.
