The town of Banyuls-Sur-Mer extends in the shade of the Pyrenees with its beach, port, and renowned vineyards that advance towards the Col de Banyuls. The village's port is both a picturesque fishing port and a marina bordered by the Allées Maillol. These alleys bear the name of the local sculptor Aristide Maillol whose works are on display at the eponymous museum. Banyuls-Sur-Mer also houses a Biodiversarium made up of two additional sites: a new aquarium and the Mediterranean garden of Mas de la Serre. It constitutes a site of exchange between the public and the scientific world about the richness of the local natural environment.
