Barneville-Carteret est une commune du département de la Manche.
Elle se situe sur la Côte des Isles.
Ses plages de sable fin sont abritées de la houle de l'Atlantique par les îles Anglo-Normandes et réchauffées par le Gulf Stream.
La Côte des Isles doit son nom au fait qu'elle fait face aux îles Anglo-Normandes situées à une quarantaine de kilomètres au large.
