'Les Vignerons Libres de Maraussan' in the Hérault department is the first wine sales cooperative in France and was created in 1901. In 1995, the descendants of these same winegrowers created the largest merger of cellars in France and brought together six cooperatives for more than 700,000 hectoliters of wine.
