View of the Pinarellu Island from the Mediterranean sea, south of the eponymous gulf, in the region of Porto Vecchio. The island is a Natura 2000 classified site for its fauna and its flora. The rocky habitats and the square Genoese tower serve as shelter for several species of bats, as well as two species of geckos, the European Leaf-toed Gecko and the Common Wall Gecko.
