For Pierre Daniel, a musher in Septmoncel-les-Molunes in Haut-Jura, dogs have always been friends although he admits he has always been afraid of them. The sled dogs, which he did not really know before his installation in Les Bois Fous at 3,937 feet (1,200 meters) of altitude, have become the dogs of his life or rather the type of dog that corresponds to the life in the great outdoors he chose to lead and to the image of simplicity and immediate presence he wants to have of himself.
