Spruce forest ('pessière') in the Haut-Jura
In French, we use the term 'pessière' - derived from 'pesse' which means 'spruce' in Franco-Provençal - to name a plantation or a natural forest populated by spruce trees. The word 'pesse' also refers to a kind of fir tree. Spruce forests exist naturally in Jura, Alaska, Canada (Rockies) or Siberia.
