The Petite Montagne (small mountain) extends over the cantons of Arinthod, Orgelet, and Saint-Julien-sur-Suran in the Jura department. Ranging from 1,312 to 2,759 ft (400 to 841 m), it was dug by the Valouse river which was once a breeding ground for woodturning factories installed along its banks.
