The GR 52 hiking trail, the Grande traversée du Mercantour, ends in Menton in the Alpes-Maritimes department. It reaches the town after a long descent from the Col du Berceau through the rock of Orméa and the Granges Saint-Paul path. On the way, the trail allows hikers to enjoy the view of the village of Castellar, perched at an altitude of 1,217 ft (371 m) at the top of the Saint-Sébastien hill.
