The Humpback red snapper (Lutjanus gibbus) is recognizable by its general coloration (gray, red), its dorsal hump, its concave head with a long forehead, its eye edged with red and yellow, its wine-colored pectoral fins. Very common in the waters of French Polynesia, it is usually found in very important and not very mobile schools on coral reefs, reef slopes and drop offs.
