Peninsula of Girolata and its isolated hamlet
2
0
The peninsula of Girolata and its fort, which stands guard, protect the sumptuous beach of Focaghia. Some houses are aligned on the peninsula, facing the glittering Mediterranean waves. Out of season, no more than a dozen people live here. The first inhabitants of the hamlet were shepherds who settled around the walled enclosure during the transhumance periods. Today, some wild goats still bear witness to this time.
