The green sea turtle (Chelonia mydas) owes its name to the green color of its fat due to the algae that it consumes. It is found in waters whose temperature exceeds 68°F (20°C). Pelagic in the first cycle of its life, it swims in the water column thanks to its broad fin-shaped legs covered with scales. Perfectly adapted to swimming, they have a unique claw.
