The climate of the Meuse region often generates thick mists in spring and autumn. The shores of Madine Lake sometimes entirely disappear, and it is common for fishermen to get lost on its waters. Consequently, the electric boats were equipped with sounders and a lake's map, allowing them to find their way back to the port. Some people say that they witnessed coypus circling, completely disoriented in the middle of the lake during episodes of thick fog.
