Coastal fishing and pelagic species

Coastal seine fishing can be practiced all year round in Martinique. It mainly targets small pelagic species, endemic or with low migratory behavior, such as coulirou, sardine, mackerel, saury, or garfish. To them are added some larger pelagic species such as barracudas or thazards. Seasonally, seine fishing is also exerted on passing fish (variegated, sea bream, bream) when they approach the coast.
