In Corsica, in the Strait of Bonifacio Nature Reserve, fishermen carry out a traditional activity aboard small boats. Since the 1990s, they have been actively collaborating and monitoring the evolution of fish stocks with the Corsican Environment Office. The fish population is up to six times higher in protected areas than in unprotected areas, even when artisanal fishing activity is permitted.
