Peary caribou, smallest of the species
During the short arctic summer, caribou migrate to the arctic plains to feed on plants, lichens, ferns and even a few flowers. Peary caribou are a light-coloured subspecies of the caribou that live in the Arctic. It is the smallest of the caribou and reindeer family, and only reaches 90 cm at the withers.
