In western Honduras, L’Occidente is a mountainous region overlooking by the Mount Celaque (Cerro Las Minas). It has some of the most beautiful landscapes in the country, where coffee grows on the mountainside, in the rainforest shade. It was the territory of Maya and Lenca people before the Spanish invasion. Nowadays, a melting pot population lives in these villages with colonial architecture.
