Biot (pronounced 'Biotte') is an urban municipality in the Alpes-Maritimes department located between Cannes and Nice and bordering the city of Antibes. The town numbered almost 10,000 inhabitants in 2017. The western part of its territory is occupied by the Sophia-Antipolis technology hub, specialized in information and communication technologies, of which it hosts a third of the installations.
