Notre-Dame Church of Épernay was erected between 1898 and 1915 on the site of a former Ursuline convent, mainly from local millstones. Hardly finished in 1915, it was partly destroyed by German bombardments in 1917 and 1918, then restored between 1922 and 1925. In its interior, a sacred art space contains precious liturgical vestments, statues from the 15th and 16th centuries, and the tombstone of the lord of Épernay from the 15th century. The exterior of Notre-Dame Church is inspired by Romanesque architecture, while the interior displays primitive Gothic.
