The foundation of Saint-Lazarus Chapel in Gorbio, in the Alpes-Maritimes department, would date back to the early Middle Ages. Its initial construction estimated in the 12th century would make it one of the oldest chapels in the region. However, if the medieval foundation of the chapel seems plausible, the current building would not be prior to the 17th century.
