Along with the Dalmatian pelican and the great bustard, the white swan is the heaviest European bird able to fly. The large species is predominantly considered and bred as domestic and ornamental in parks and gardens. Also known as the emblem of the Danish monarchy, the white swan is not endangered throughout its territory. However, it is vulnerable to various types of pollution of its environment and water bodies.
