The Villette rotunda, or St. Martin's Barrier, is one of the barriers to granting the General Farmers' Wall. Built just before the Revolution by architect Claude Nicolas Ledoux as part of the General Farmers' Wall, the rotunda was its most imposing building. It is an ornamental monument intended to house the offices of a receiver and several controllers. It was built between 1784 and 1788.
