Weaver courtship ritual

As soon as the male has finished building the nest, he tries to attract a female. This is the time for courtship, which consists in clinging under the nest, facing its opening and vigorously flapping wings while uttering very peculiar cries. If the female is attracted by this parade, she enters the nest to visit. When the nest is refused, it becomes less and less attractive and eventually dries, passing from green to straw color. After a week, the nest generally loses all attraction and the discarded male abandons or destroys it.
