Most French cross-country skiers consider themselves to have a fairly intermediate level. They are, nonetheless, rather athletic and well invested in other nature sports or hobbies. Their degree of diversity of practices is indeed one of the highest, with an average of eight other nature sports or leisure activities per year. Among them first comes hiking (49%), followed by mountain biking (42%) and cycling on road or cycle paths (41%).
