In addition to a magnificent restored windmill, Verzenay has another original feature, a lighthouse worthy of the Atlantic coast which overlooks a sea of vines! This impressive building was built in 1909 by Joseph Goulet, a wine merchant, to promote his champagne brand. In the evening, the lantern turned and lit up the hills of Verzenay. At the foot of the lighthouse, two restaurants soon became very successful, but the First World War put an end to the festivities. The lighthouse then went out of operation for several decades. Today, it can be visited and offers a 360° panorama from the top of its 25 metres.
