Between Toutainville and Pont-Audemer, the Étangs Natural Park is a site protected by the RAMSAR convention. Everywhere semi-submerged plants such as yellow irises, reedbeds, and gorses provide shelter for the many species of birds present (herons, egrets, diving birds). Large waternymphs and waterweeds from Canada participate in stabilizing and purifying the grounds. The banks are lined with ash, willow, and elder trees that filter the water and retain the earth.
