Birds like peace and quiet to rest and feed. Therefore, they often choose places that are remote from any human activity. In order to facilitate visitors’ observations, five covered shelters with benches are nested on the banks of Lac du Der-Chantecoq and the surrounding ponds. Not far from there, a Crane Farm, managed by the League for the Protection of Birds (LPO), is located on a disused farmhouse. In order to keep the cranes on that farm, grain feeding is carried out from February to March, thus reducing their impact on the seedlings of the farmers in the region.
