The coastal resort and beach of Banyuls-sur-Mer are set around a natural bay and a port. On the Languedoc-Roussillon coastline of the Mediterranean Sea, this beach town extends just north of the border between France and Spain, on the Côte Vermeille. The beach of Banyuls-sur-Mer was rewarded with the prestigious Pavillon Bleu (Blue Flag) label for its cleanliness and facilities. Banyuls is also well known for its local wine production and numerous vineyards and cellars like the La Grande Cave and La Cave du Mas Reig.
