The team recently organized an unusual crocodile rescue effort. The Greater Portmore sewage ponds just outside of Kingston have provided an important artificial habitat to American crocodiles in light of habitat loss and fragmentation. After some logistical planning, Treya Picking and her team installed crocodile “ladders” along the banks of the pond and are proud to report that the trapped crocodiles have successfully escaped using their ladders.
