In Alsace, respect for Nature is rooted in tradition. The Upper Rhine region is the cradle of biodynamics. Since the 1970s, biodynamic viticulture has developed widely in the Alsatian vineyard that has become its leader in Europe. Today, 175 wine estates are certified organic in the region, and 60 of them also practice biodynamics testified by various labels. Almost 16% of Alsace's vineyards are exploited with organic methods, while the average varies from 8 to 12% worldwide and is around 10% in France.
