One of the Most Beautiful Villages in France

Since July 26, 1997, Saint-Agnès, in the Alpes-Maritimes department, has been listed among the Most Beautiful Villages in France. This recognition rewards its privileged location in a setting overlooking the Mediterranean and its heritage. The label The Most Beautiful Villages in France distinguishes villages with less than 2,000 inhabitants that comprise at least two sites or built elements that are the subject of official protections such as a classification as Historical Monuments. It currently concerns 164 French villages, which are reassessed every six to nine years.
