One of the main squares of Dijon

Built between 1900 and 1905, Place François Rude, named after a local sculptor, is one of the most touristic squares in the city center of Dijon in the Côte d'Or department. Lined with old houses, some of which are half-timbered, it hosts a market on Tuesday and Friday mornings. It is commonly called Place du Bareuzai because of the Bareuzai or Harvester statue that dominates its central fountain. Place François Rude also hosts a merry-go-round decorated in homage to Gustave Eiffel, the most famous of the Dijonnais.
