The mountain municipality of Albepierre-Bredons covers 21.3 square miles (34.42 km²) between 2,860 and 6,086 ft (872 and 1,855 m) of altitude. The locality extends in the Auvergne Volcanoes Regional Nature Park in the heart of the Mounts of Cantal, the largest volcano in Europe. Its territory includes a 506,6 acres (205 ha) integral biological reserve, 16% of which are listed as Natura 2000. The Mounts of Cantal volcano is located at the confluence of the glacial valleys of Benet and Lagnon and culminates at the Plomb du Cantal.
