Ognat and Ohnyot Bay

0
The northern part of Ouvéa is the least touristic. The road to Ognat, at the eastern end of the island and at the top right of the photo, crosses coconut groves and follows deserted shores. The white sand beaches framed by coral cliffs of Ohnyot Bay are hidden by the vegetation just like the round thatched huts of the traditional tribes. Not far from Ognat is Gossanah, the theater of the 1988 hostage-taking.
